About Dr. Klyachman
Function
comes first.
Dr. Ben Klyachman founded Institute of Function around one belief: function is the ultimate measure of health.
Dr. Klyachman is board-certified in pain medicine and in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry). He completed residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and fellowship training in Pain Medicine (Anesthesiology) at NYU. His background allows him to approach pain from both a functional and procedural perspective, identifying what is limiting the patient, then using targeted medical, interventional, regenerative, and performance-based strategies to help restore capacity.
Diagnosis comes before treatment. Dr. Klyachman considers movement, examination findings, and imaging together to understand the source of pain and its effect on daily life, work, and sport.
Repair first, surgery last. Rehabilitation and the least invasive effective option come first, with image-guided procedures and regenerative options considered when the examination supports them. Surgery is reserved for when it is truly needed.
